These are more than just a piece of cloth, they are a symbol of culture, tradition and history. These sarees are known to be at least 400 years old, produced primarily by two weaving communities, namely the Devangas and the Saligars.

These sarees are frequently worn on festive days like weddings, festivals, and customary rituals. Many ladies in South India also like to wear them daily, usually combined with a blouse and petticoat. Although these are produced in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, they are popular all across India.
